Hot Shoulder

Hello everyone! One of the trends for spring 2016 is bare shoulders. A lot of designers featured chic ways of displaying shoulders in their runway collections. I liked Natalia Alaverdian’s interpretation of this trend in her A.W.A.K.E collection. I especially love how she played with volume and asymmetric patterns to create beautiful pieces. Zebra print was a prominent motif. I was amazed at how she managed to incorporate this elegant pattern into a majority of her designs without going overboard. I chose the silhouette below because I love the contrast of a voluminous top with a sleek bottom. The upper part of my outfit is actually a dress made by my sister. I decided to wear a black pencil skirt over it to draw attention to the dramatic design of the top and of course, my bare shoulder.
