I never got on the peplum bandwagon when it started appearing everywhere. I do remember once buying a yellow peplum top from Banana Republic, but I ended up giving it to my cousin before I ever wore it. I just never understood the appeal of having extra fabric around my waist. I also have a long torso, so all the peplum tops/dresses I had tried previously fitted poorly. What initially drew me to this top from Brock Collection was the off-the-shoulder neckline, the corset-like style and the puff sleeves. When a top is this beautiful, you want to keep everything else simple. I styled it with jeans and neutral accessories. I’m glad I reconsidered my aversion to peplum because this piece is stunning. I first heard about Brock Collection when Meghan Markle a.k.a the Duchess of Sussex wore a very pretty patterned midi dress from their Resort 2019 collection. The more research I did on this brand, the more I fell in love with the aesthetic. I look forward to wearing more designs from Brock Collection.
