Chartreuse

Hello,

As we approach the end of summer, I started to think about all the spring/summer fashion trends I have yet to try. I generally stick to trends within my comfort zone, but sometimes I take a risk and it pays off. Neon colored outfits do not usually appeal to me. I would have thought to myself, why would anyone want to look an a highlighter? Then I saw this dress, and now I’m a believer. Christian Siriano created a stunning piece in this beautiful, vibrant color. The leopard straps added the right amount of danger to an electrifying dress. It looks like green neon is not going away anytime soon because designers such as Nina Ricci, Issey Miyake and Vivienne Westwood featured it in their Fall 2019 runway collections.

Dark Floral

Hi everyone,

I absolutely love discovering new designers such as Dodo Bar Or, Jonathan Simkhai, and Aijek. For today’s post, I’m wearing a dress by Alice McCall. Alice is an Australian designer whose aesthetic appeals to me. I’m a girly girl who would wear a dress everyday if I could. So I’m definitely looking forward to wearing more beautiful clothes from this amazing designer. I really love the contrast of bright yellow and blue color against the black fabric. The colors and the placement of the cut-out add a level sophistication to what would have been just another floral dress. This dress runs a bit small so I would recommend sizing up. As a reference, I usually wear size 4-6 in dresses depending on the designer. I went with a size 10 in this dress because I wanted it to fit comfortably around my hips. I styled my dress with simple block heel black sandals and my favorite tea rose purse from COACH.

What a dress!

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone one is having a lovely summer so far. I took some time off from blogging due to personal reasons. I lost someone very dear to me. She was one of my biggest supporters. She always encouraged me to keep writing and do the things I love. So I am dedicating this blog post to her.

I initially saw this dress online but I was a little skeptical about getting the dress because of the exposed mesh in the front. When you are well endowed in the chest area, you have to be careful what you wear. Otherwise, you may run the risk of overexposing yourself unless that’s what you are aiming for. If that’s the case, then more power to you. No judgment here. I decided to take a chance and I’m so glad I did. This dress is so wonderful. I wanted to twirl all day in it. The cotton fabric is perfect for the hot summer weather. It’s fitted at the top, so I was able to get away with not wearing a bra. Love the embroidery and the tassels outlining the top and the back of this darling dress.

Taking a fashion risk can be a bit scary but it’s a wonderful feeling when your risk pays off.

On Trend: Asymmetric Neckline

Hello everyone,

I have heard people talk about how beautiful a woman’s clavicle is, but most of us don’t really pay attention to that part of our body. Most of the clothes we wear either covers or drapes over our shoulders. With the popularity of the off-the shoulder silhouette, I can’t help but pay close attention to an alluring part of the body. It’s feminine and sexy without trying too hard. Carolina Hererra, Zimmermann, Self-Portrait, Cushnie and Rejina Pyo all featured asymmetrical neckline in their Fall 2019 runway collection. Which bring me to this stunning dress from Aijek Fall/Winter 2017 collection. I tend to gravitate towards outfits that have interesting design elements just like the asymmetry of this dress. The cool off-the-shoulder neckline, mismatched stripes and the high-low hem create a visually stunning dress. I hope you all love it like I do.

Garden Party

Hello everyone,

There’s a tree in my backyard that transforms my garden into a beautiful oasis when it blooms. The tree produces flowers that only last for a fleeting moment, which makes me appreciate its beauty even more. I wanted to wear an outfit that complimented yet contrasted its surroundings, so I chose this bright, flowy, floral dress by Petersyn. I love when an outfit has interesting elements because it creates multiple focal points to admire. The two different straps on the dress, the smocked bodice and the asymmetric ruffled hemline together made this darling dress fun to wear. I felt so content that by the end of this shoot, I was walking around barefooted and carefree. I’m always grateful for precious moments like these because I know how fleeting they can be.

Modern Romance

Pride and Prejudice is one of my all time favorite books and I love the movie adaptation with Keira Knightley and Matthew MacFadyen. When I saw this whimsical dress by Jonathan Simkhai, I imagined this would be the type of dress a modern day Elizabeth Bennet would wear. It’s hard for me to pick my favorite design element on this darling dress. I love the hourglass fit, the puffy sleeves, the asymmetric ruffled hem, and the cute little buttons that decorate the bodice. What also made this photo session romantic is the blooming tree and falling petals in the background. To style this dress, I added a neutral sandal and my beloved tea rose purse from Coach.

As always, thanks for reading!

A Ray of Sunshine

Just when I thought the weather was warm enough to bring out my spring/summer clothes, the weather channeled Arya Stark and said, “not today”. It has been so wet, dreary and foggy for the past few days, but once in a while, rays of sunlight get through to brighten our cloudy days. Now, let’s talk about this stunning jumpsuit by Rebecca Taylor. It has everything a girl could ever want. It has ruffled little sleeves, a sweetheart neckline, a cutout below the bust and a smocked waistline to accentuate the waist. Also the wide pant legs create a slimming effect. All of the design elements may seem a bit much, but it somehow works. As you can see in the pictures below, I love and feel comfortable in this jumpsuit. I went with pastel color accessories to complement the dark blue color of the fabric.

Berry Velvet Crush

Spring has officially sprung! Praise the Lord. The novelty of cold weather wore off pretty quickly for me once the holiday season was over. I have been waiting patiently for warmer weather and it’s finally here. So, it makes sense that I start my first post this Spring with a beautiful transitional piece. This dress is truly stunning. From the vibrant berry color to the opulent velvet floral pattern and the high side split, what more could a girl ask for? I styled this dress with dangling earrings and kept the rest of my accessories minimal.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and as always, thanks for reading!

Fun with Faux Fur

Hello everyone,

I took a little break from blogging to focus on my family. The past few months have been really rough, but it has only made me stronger. I debated stopping my blog entirely but then I remembered what motivated me to blog to begin with. This is one of my creative outlets. Blogging gave me the freedom to combine two things I enjoy, writing and fashion. I could easily just post pictures on instagram and move on, but it never really gives me the satisfaction I get after I publish a new blog post. Although my priorities changed after I became a mom, I have to remember to do things that make me happy. I hope you all do the same too.

It’s all in the details.

We all have owned or worn a sweater dress at some point. It’s a must have during the colder months. What sets this black sweater dress apart? Just like the title says, it’s all in the details. The puffy sleeves are super fun and pretty pearl-shaped dots add charming elements to this dress. I styled my dress with black over-the-knee boots, an ivory coat and a red crossbody to add a pop of color.
