Little White Dress

Hi everyone,

We all have a favorite little black dress, but a little white dress is also a fashion staple that we should all have and equally love. Traditionally, white dresses are often reserved for special occasions like graduations, bridal showers and weddings etc, but I think it’s time for this versatile piece to get more attention and use. This design from MSGM has asymmetric ruffled details which adds a fun element to this stunning dress. I styled this dress with white peep-toed pump and I chose a vintage Gucci purse to complete my look. This dress is currently on sale or it could be rented through rent the runway for 4 or 8 days.

For Pleat’s Sake!

Hello everyone,

There’s nothing like a dress that moves like a dream. This stunning number is so flattering. It hugs you in all the right places, and the bottom half flares out into beautiful pleats. The color block on this dress is unlike anything I’ve seen. The floral half adds enough drama to elevate the design of the dress without overwhelming the black half. I accessorized with a light blue Tea Rose crossbody and simple black block heel sandals.

Now, let’s talk about this amazing park. I stumbled upon it on a friend’s Facebook page and I was shocked that this gem was less than 30 minutes away from me. It’s called Holliday Park and it is located on the north side of Indianapolis. We will definitely be going back to visit.

Flower Power

Hello everyone,

I don’t know if I want to shimmy all day or do the cha-cha-cha in this beautiful jumpsuit. I instantly fell in love with the design. Its colorful floral pattern and the sweetheart neckline add a level of sweetness to this playful jumpsuit. The upper part fits like a corset, so you can definitely go without a bra. I went with simple accessories like this neutral clutch and dusty rose sandals to complete my outfit. The brand, Finders Keepers, is an Australian women’s fashion label, but you can buy their clothes at American retailers like Nordstrom and ASOS. The jumpsuit is no longer available in this pattern, but you can rent it for 4 or 8 days through RENT the RUNWAY. It is still available for purchase in black. I would recommend going up a size because this jumpsuit runs small.

Spring Awakening

Hello everyone,

It has been exactly a year since my last blog post. I have been preoccupied with raising a beautiful baby boy (see @runwayinspired on instagram for more details). Motherhood has completely changed my life and I’m better for it. It definitely has its ups and downs. I feel like every time I figure things out, something else changes and then I have to learn to adapt to the new thing…sigh. It took me a while before I can finally tell myself “girl, you got this”. I can handle the roles of wife, mother, optometrist, and also have a semi-functioning social life. I just have to prioritize and take it step by step. I also have an amazing support system, i.e. my husband, my mom, and my in-laws.

I am very happy to be able to resume my fashion blog. I must confess, it was very hard to feel fashionable while I was handling spills, cleaning spit up, and having him constantly cling to me. But as my little guy gets older and with a better routine, I’m starting to have a little more time to myself. So let’s go back to talking about clothes, shall we?

It’s spring time and you can’t talk about spring fashion without florals. My cute floral chiffon dress with ruffled trims was purchased at BCBGMAXAZRIA last summer and I finally just got the chance to wear it. The dress is no longer available, but I have attached a similar style below. I added neutral accessories to complete my look.

Thanks for reading and happy mother’s day to all the moms and moms-to- be.

Floral Maxi

Hi everyone! I don’t know about you all, but I need a vacation. I recently switched jobs, which means I will not be eligible for a vacation until next year. My husband and I love to travel. We make an effort each year to go to a place we’ve never been before. Our taste in places to visit sometimes differs, but we almost always end up at a resort/beach destination. Since I can’t go where I would like to go, I see no reason why I can’t dress the part. I always look forward to seeing resort/cruise runway collections. Each designer’s interpretation varies so much that there is something to soothe everyone’s taste regardless of what the weather is like in between seasons. I feel like Carolina Herrera says it best while talking about her Resort 2016 collection when she said, “…I cannot imagine a resort collection without flowers” (via Vogue). So, it should come as no surprise that she inspired me to don my maxi floral dress and daydream about spending my day at a beautiful resort, enjoying exotic cocktail drinks and listening to the sound of ocean waves crashing onto the shore

Sunday Morning in Floral Drop-Waist Dress

Hi everyone! Hope you all are having a lovely weekend. Anyone who knows me know how obsessed I am with dresses. I stumbled upon this dress while window shopping at the mall. I immediately fall in love with drop-waist/A-line design and the huge daisies on the dress. My style inspiration this week came from 3.1 Phillip Lim Resort 2015 collection. Enjoy…

Resort Wear

Hello Everyone!

Last week’s post was about my day trip to LA. This week’s post will conclude the summary of my amazing trip to San Diego. John and I started our vacation by visiting the world-famous San Diego Zoo, Santa Ann for a friend’s wedding and Chula Vista for another friend’s wedding shower. We also went to La Jolla Cove, Coronado Island and Gaslamp Quarter in downtown San Diego. My style inspiration on this vacation didn’t come just from one designer, it stemmed from a combination of some of my favorite looks from Resort 2014 runway collection. Resort wear tends to be more commercial, in order words, more appealing to everyone. Enjoy…
